Chevron Pattern

I have a confession to make. I love chevron. To be honest, it’s a little outside of my box. I tend to be drawn to classic romantic details and chevron leans a little modern but it’s not too much. It’s definitely not over the top modern so it can be incorporated into so many different themes. This pattern is showing up all over the wedding scene in fascinating new ways. Check out some great ideas below or try coming up with some of your own: linens, ribbon for your bouquet, tie’s, cupcakes could all be great ideas!

Things We Heart: May

I think May is my favorite month. Just saying.

I think I might have an obsession with drink stirrers. Usually you have me at glitter but these adorable twig drink stirrers from BHLDN are so unique and cute! Perfect for a wedding that is going for a “back to nature” vibe! And the fact that they are white means they will work with almost any color palate!

Definitely loving this color scheme. We all know how big grey is right now. You can pair it with any color for a great statement, whether it be a pastel, bright or bold color. But there is something about this picture and the amazing pop of color against this great neutral. Something about the colors in this picture just make you warm and fuzzy inside. Head over to Style Me Pretty for the full wedding album, there are lots of lovely little details!

Okay, so I know paper straws are old news. But I love them a lot. I hope they never go away. Or at least not before I get married because I will use them without judgement I tell you! Plus how cute is this bride? She made tiny little flags for all of them for a little extra personality! And don’t forget, these are perfect for showers too!

Adorable escort cookies!!! These were handmade by the bride, a recent culinary student. I would love to say I could make them just as good but we all know that mine would end up fat and smushy. But they would taste good. Promise. If you are like me, I’m sure you could find someone who could whip these up for you. Way less stressful but still just as cute!

Having a Relief Station for your outdoor summer wedding = Brilliant Idea. Out of all the people who contributed to this wedding, whoever came up with this idea deserves a frozen strawberry margarita pronto. What other items would you add at your “Relief Station”?

Ombre, the hair trend, has quickly made it’s way to the wedding scene and has made quite a splash. Ombre refers to a gradient look where color gradually fades out. It can be seen in many wedding day details from invitations to cakes to linens.  One of the coolest things about this trend is that is can be used with almost any style wedding. Whether it be rustic or whimsical, using ombre will bring out your trendy side. Use it in small details for a subtle statement or say something bold by having ombre tablecloths or  using it multiple times. What do you think? Where will you incorporate ombre in your big day?

Lets Get Marbled!

I feel like it’s been a while since we have seen anything marbled. It took a brake for a few decades and it’s coming back in new and fun ways! Especially perfect for spring, marbling is one of those super awesome trends that you can use just about anywhere in your wedding, from the paper to the cake to the linens to the ribbon. The possibilities are endless! It’s also great for any formality as well. It would look just as nice dressed up with black ties as it would a nice country rustic affair. Check out our board for inspiration and don’t forget to leave your own ideas in the comments!!
