Flower Spotlight: Billy Balls

Flowers 3 Comments by Nicole

If you don’t already know what a billy ball is, you are about to find out. More than likely you’ve seen it a million times you just never knew what to call it! This modern and playful little flower is the perfect shade of yellow and can hold up to almost any wedding day. It’s available all year round and only costs about $1.50 per stem. Billy balls are also known as billy buttons and yellow crespedia (the more technical name). They make a great filler flower or stand up as a great featured flower, either way they really pack a punch! You can also check out our Yellow and Grey post for more billy ball inspiration!

Ombre, the hair trend, has quickly made it’s way to the wedding scene and has made quite a splash. Ombre refers to a gradient look where color gradually fades out. It can be seen in many wedding day details from invitations to cakes to linens.  One of the coolest things about this trend is that is can be used with almost any style wedding. Whether it be rustic or whimsical, using ombre will bring out your trendy side. Use it in small details for a subtle statement or say something bold by having ombre tablecloths or  using it multiple times. What do you think? Where will you incorporate ombre in your big day?

Lovely Lavender

It’s lavender week here at The Aisle Style! Today we have new and inspiring ways to incorporate lavender into your big day. You can feel comfortable adding lavender pretty much anywhere in your wedding. It will only enhance the mood and of course the scent of the event. Lavender not only smells incredible but it also has calming and relaxing properties that will put you and your guests at ease. The color is beautiful with it’s eye popping color and is perfect for almost any outdoor affair! Another cool tip is that lavender can be added for flavor as well, carrying the theme throughout every part of your wedding. Add it to ice cream, macaroons and even your signature drink!

Paper Flowers

I know everyone is always looking for a way to make their wedding stand out and be different. I have found your answer. It’s paper. Okay, I know, just hear me out. Paper can be used to make almost anything. Plus you can experiment with using different patterns, textures and colors to create something really special. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box on this one, you can incorporate this idea in virtually any aspect of your big day. And don’t feel limited to flowers either, this could be the perfect time to learn how to origami so you can cross it off your bucket list! Just a side thought….. how cool would it be to have hundreds of paper cranes hanging in the background of your makeshift alter?!
