Drink of the Week: Fall Berries & Rosemary Cooler

It’s definitely starting to cool down around these parts and let me just say WOW! It has been absolutely beautiful! I love all the emotions that come with fall. You get this overwhelming feeling of comfort and that is exactly why I picked this drink for the week. What is better than some yummy fall berries and fresh rosemary? Uh…nothing! (well, maybe bacon, but that’s it!)

Fall Berries and Rosemary Cooler

Makes 2 drinks

INGREDITENTS

  • 8 blackberries
  • 10 blueberries
  • 8 raspberries
  • 1/2 rosemary sprig
  • Juice from one lime
  • 3 tablespoons simple syrup*
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • Rosemary sprigs, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
Place the berries and rosemary in a shaker and muddle for 1 minute. Add lime juice, simple syrup, vodka, and ice’; shake well for 20 seconds. Pour into two glasses filled with ice. Serve with a rosemary sprig. Cheers!
*Boil 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar for 2 minutes; cool.

Drink of the Week: Watermelon & Raspberry Lemonade

Watermelon and Raspberry Lemonade

INGREDIENTS

  • 6 cups watermelon cubes (seeds removed)
  • 1/4 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup lemon juice
  • 8 oz. watermelon flavored vodka

INSTRUCTIONS

Place watermelon, raspberries and water in container of electric blender, cover and blend until smooth. Strain through fine mesh strainer into pitcher. Stir in sugar and lemon juice until sugar dissolves. Refrigerate until chilled, about 1 hour.

Makes 4 servings

Drink of the Week: 4th of July Edition

Happy 4th of July everyone!!!! Here is a great signature drink for your 4th of July wedding that is sure to keep your guests happy!

Ingredients

  • 3 cups blackberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1/2 cup Simple Syrup (http://www.marthastewart.com/284130/simple-syrup)
  • 1/2 cup white grape juice
  • 1/3 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Ice, for serving (optional)
  • Seltzer or sparkling wine, chilled
  • Patriotic fruit skewers, for garnish (optional)

Directions

  1. Place blackberries, raspberries, simple syrup, grape juice, and lemon juice in the jar of a blender; puree until smooth. Strain mixture through a fine mesh sieve, discarding solids.
  2. Fill 8 Collins glasses with ice, if using. Divide mixture evenly between glasses; top with seltzer or wine and serve immediately garnished with fruit skewers, if desired.

Drink of the Week: Sparkling Sangria

It’s a great time of year to be using fresh fruits in your drinks. This is exactly why a sangria would make a great signature cocktail for your wedding! Let me tell you, this combo sounds amazing! And it’s such a beautiful color!

Sparkling Sangria

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 cup cherries, pitted and halved
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup raspberries
  • 1 cup quartered small strawberries
  • 1/2 cup chopped nectarine (about 1)
  • 1/3 cup brandy
  • 1 cup apricot nectar, chilled
  • 1 (750-milliliter) bottle cava, chilled

INSTRUCTIONS

1. Combine the first 6 ingredients in a large pitcher, and chill for at least 2 hours. Stir in 1 cup nectar and wine. Serve immediately.
