Fingerprint Guest Book

Guest books have gotten a bad rap. You have all your friends sign a piece of paper that ends up sitting in a box for 20 years and isn’t really used for it’s purpose as a momento. It’s no wonder the guest book has made some serious changes in the last few years. There are many different ways to make your guest book unique and the fingerprint guest book has made a huge appearance in the last year.

The neat thing about having a fingerprint guest book is that you can actually use it and display it on your wall with pride! The majority of these guest books have a tree drawn and then your guest’s fingerprints are used as leaves with a signature underneath. There are several other versions you can consider, like a getaway car being picked up by balloons, etc.

There are many options that are available for purchase. Each designer has new unique approach to  their creation so make sure you do your research and find one that’s perfect for you! Make sure you choose inks that coordinate with your wedding colors, there are hundreds of choices for you!

Check out Bleu de Toi where they hand draw their fingerprint pages! These offer a natural, vintage look that could be perfect for your big day! Each drawing is  one of a kind and completely customizable.

There are options that focus a little more on graphic design which offers a completely different look like this one from Inviting Moments Etsy Shop. Remember that grey and yellow are hot colors for 2011!

Lastly, are these beautiful creations by Love From the Thumb. Not only are these pieces beautiful but when you purchase from Love From the Thumb, you get the whole package! Some packages include not only the fingerprint tree with your names and wedding date, but also a wooden display case with your initials on the top and date on the inside, a four pack of Tsukineko Momento Inks and fine tip black marker for guests to use. You can also chose to purchase these separately. Love From the Thumb also has several signature styles to choose from!

Or you can learn to make your own by visiting Style Unveiled here.

Keep in Mind

  • You will want to leave instructions somehow so guests will know what they are being asked to do
  • Ink can be messy, so make sure you buy high quality ink like Tsukineko Momento Inks that are fast drying and fade resistant
  • Make sure you include a black felt tip pen next to the tree so guests can sign their names or initials by their fingerprints

We like the template that happens to have yellow prints and the birds for bride and groom in grey prints. We want this template. How do we get it?
